This isn’t really a collection of poems. The word ‘collection’ suggests an element of coherence, or the presence of theme, and I have to admit that neither apply. This is a slightly haphazard assemblage of poems I have written over the years. To that extent they reflect my life, which has also unfolded in a random kind of way, with stints teaching English in a variety of places around the globe.
Some of the poems are humorous (or they’re meant to be), some are serious, and they all sprang more or less unbidden onto the page. Hopefully, each reader will find something in the book that he or she can relate to in some way.
